The Childless Stepmums Forum was created to help women with stepfamilies and no children of their own come to terms with their new environment. If this refers to you, then a very warm welcome to you. Here is a place for you to vent your frustrations, seek advice and take comfort and assurance from the fact that you are not alone.

You will find lots of women in your situation here with their own stories and experiences - many of which you will be able relate to. If something specific is troubling you or you simply want to talk about your own circumstances, this is the place to do it. Welcome.

The Childless Stepmums Forum was founded in 2006 by Alex Thomas, then a childless step mother herself, who found that while many avenues of support existed for step-parents with their own biological children, very few were on offer to those without.

In a bid to improve her own situation and others' in similar circumstances she established the Childless Stepmums Forum - an online retreat for women with no children of their own suddenly exposed to all the trappings of motherhood without any of the preparation.

Alex is a freelance journalist, now with a daughter and two stepchildren from her husband's previous marriage.
